Yerba Maté: The "Ultimate Super Food"
“Today” show promotes the benefits of herb found in O So Slender™ products
A national TV audience this week learned about the powerful health benefits of Yerba Maté in a segment televised on the top-rated NBC morning program the “Today” show.
The 7-minute news feature “5 Foods That Could Change Your Life,” included important health information about Yerba Maté, a South American herb especially popular in countries like Paraguay and Argentina.
Here in North America, the news came as no surprise to consumers of Oxyfresh’s O So Slender™ products. That’s because all-natural Yerba Maté is included in the O So Slender™ Chocolate Soy Protein Shake, Liquid Thermogenics and, of course, Yerba Maté Capsules.
The “Today” segment featured Andrew Zimmern of the Travel Channel, who told the national audience that Yerba Maté is a unique food that is quickly gaining international popularity because the herb is loaded with antioxidants and other nutrients that deliver significant health benefits, including:
- Stress reduction
- Appetite control
- Energy booster
- Metabolism enhancer
- Mood brightener
“Yerba Maté has the fatigue-fighting benefits of coffee, but doesn’t stress the central nervous system and muscles so you can have it before a workout and it doesn’t take away from the healthful benefits of other foods the way coffee, or even tea, can,” Zimmern said.
Zimmern also said a 2004 study conducted at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana found that Maté’s high antioxidant content promotes cell survival better than red wine or green tea. Maté also contains caffeine, xanthine alkaloids (including a mood elevator and muscle relaxant found in chocolate), and B vitamins.
Try O So Slender™ for yourself and see why it’s being hailed as a “life-changing food!”
