On average, 50 to 75 percent will want the service if they know you offer it. Brushing once every three to six weeks removes existing plaque. If the pet owner adds Pet Oral Hygiene Solution to their pet’s drinking water, brushing will result in the removal of some tartar, along with the plaque.
The average charge for tooth brushing is $8 to $14. Some charge $15 or more for this service. Each dog should have its own Triple•Pet Toothbrush and Pet Gel upon completion. The pet owner will use this at home and bring it back for future visits.
Let’s assume on an average business day you see 10 to 20 dogs. Let’s also assume that just five of these pet owners want your tooth-brushing service.

Under this program, you sell the pet owner a set consisting of a Triple•Pet Toothbrush and 1-ounce Pet Gel to continue the cleaning from home. The pet owner brings this with them each time they return.
At least one-third of the dogs receiving this service are having their teeth brushed for the first time and will need a set to take home.

You will also sell Pet Oral Hygiene Solution (POHS) to these same 33 dogs because it simply and effectively supports oral hygiene at home. Of the remaining 200-plus dogs 25 percent will need additional POHS over the course of a month for a total of 50 additional dogs using POHS.
Typically, two-thirds of the dogs you see will be less than 20 pounds and one-third of the dogs you see will be over 20 pounds. Dogs under 20 pounds will usually start with only the 4-oz. size, while those over 20 pounds will need the 16 oz.
